Dementia (Special) Care
At Caughey Preston we have the ability to support 20 Special Care residents. Our Special Care Unit supports women only. The secure Special Care unit is located within Ventnor Home on Ventnor Road.
Residents and their families take comfort in the knowledge that they have the support of qualified clinical staff 24 hours a day. Our staffing levels for Special Care residents reflect the specialised levels of care required. Overall, for our Special Care services we provide combined care and nursing staff at a ratio of 9 clients per staff member.
Residents are provided with a Care Team comprising of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists supported by the Human Services Coordinator, Nurse Manager, Dietician and Pharmacist.
